China vows better environment for foreign firms
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan said here Thursday that China will create a better environment for foreign companies in China.
He made the remarks when meeting with former US Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Samuel Berger, who held the position from 1997 to 2001 under the Clinton administration.
Wang said he hoped foreign companies could have confidence and patience in China's market potential and the country's long-term development.
"The Chinese government will firmly stick to the policy of reform and opening up," he said.
Berger said he will continue to push for more bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, and closer state-to-state ties.
Wang also expressed appreciation for Berger's long-standing efforts in promoting bilateral ties.
