Incessant rains impede wool supply (Australia)
Winter rainfall and an early spring have hit the south-eastern part of Australia and it has also affected the wool production process.
The shearing is lagging behind by almost four weeks time as a result of continuous rains, in Victoria.
According to an expert, dealers are travelling far and wide to stockpile wool supplies. The current shortage of wool in the market is due to the constant rains.
The bulk of wool is expected to come from Adelaide and other pastoral areas of North South Wales.
Good varieties of wool, which are expected to come from the dealer’s stock, are out of supply. So, whatever good variety of wool, is available in the market, is getting a lot of boost.
