China's Recalled Textiles Account for 49 Percent of EU's Recalls in August
The EU announced 74 recalls on textile and apparel products in August, up 164 percent year on year. Of which, 36 recalls were products originating in China, accounting for 49 percent, and up 6.2 times year on year.
The vast majority of recalled products are infant clothing on reasons of stranglehold suffocation, choking, swallowing and harm as main risks.
Hungary made the largest number of recalls, as it released 40 recall notifications.
The EU made 338 recalls on textile and clothing products in total from January to August this year, an increase of 117 percent year on year. Of which, the number of recalls on China's products were 175 cases, up 127 percent year on year.
