CPC Corp restarts No-5 naphtha cracker (Taiwan)
CPC Corp., Taiwan’s state oil refiner, resumed normal operations at its No. 5 naphtha cracker in Kaohsiung on September 23. The plant had to be shut down on September 19, when a typhoon struck the island.
An official spokesperson informed fibre2fashion that, there was no damage to the cracker due to the impact of the typhoon, due to which they have been able to restart the plant so early.
The No. 5 naphtha cracker has a name plate ethylene production capacity of 500,000 tons. He further added by saying that, currently this plant is running at its around 90% production capacity rates.
