10-12 New Shopping Malls to Open This Year in Shanghai

Up to now, nine new shopping malls have opened in Shanghai this year, including Greenland East Coast International Plaza, Shanghai Guojin Center, Dahua Jinxiu Carnival Plaza, Senhong Shopping Plaza, Hong Kong Mingdu Shopping Mall, Sun & Moon Light Center Plaza, Yueda 889, Star Mall, and Woge Plaza.

It is estimated that several more shopping malls are going to open by the end of this year, including Bailian Jinshan Shopping Mall, Mingren Shopping Mall. Then, the total shopping malls in Shanghai will reach 75. Comparing to past a few years, the pace of growth is highest this year. For the first half, the sales income of shopping malls in Shanghai accumulated to 33.41 billion yuan, up 24.1% year on year. The growth rate is 20 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
