Nate Smith to support INVISTA's sustainability strategy
INVISTA's CORDURA brand team welcomes Nate Smith III as the new NA outdoor and travel segment end-use marketing manager.
In this role, Smith will be responsible for the development and execution of pull-through marketing strategies and business models to increase sales of INVISTA's CORDURA brand products in the travel and outdoor recreation categories. In addition, he will develop a fundamental market understanding in these segments through detailed analysis of global supply chains, market channels, and segmentation. Smith will also support INVISTA's sustainability strategy in the core outdoor and travel sectors, including participation in the Outdoor Industry Association EcoWorking group.
We are thrilled to have Nate join our team, said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA brand marketing director. His marketing and product development experience, specifically in the travel and outdoor industries, are a valuable asset to INVISTA's CORDURA brand focus in these markets.
Smith brings more than 10 years of sales and marketing experience to aid in the development and expansion of the CORDURA brand. Prior to joining INVISTA'S CORDURA brand team, Smith served as an independent sales and management consultant for MBC Consulting, with a focus on the sporting-goods industry. Smith also served as the director of sales for LRI/Photon Microlight, where he led successful sales promotions for the company.
Extensive familiarity with business-process analysis and expertise in the sporting-goods industry has helped propel Smith's career. In 2001, he was appointed as the national sales and marketing manager for Gregory Mountain Packs, a manufacturer of mountaineering, adventure race and multi-sport packs. Additionally, Smith worked as national sales director for Sierra Designs and Ultimate Direction.
Outside of the office, Smith is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys an array of sports including: backpacking, hiking, alpine skiing, kayaking, snowshoeing, running, cycling, swimming, body boarding and golf. As an athlete, Smith has participated in more than 300 running races, including the U.S. Triathlon National Championships and Duathlon World Championships, along with 13 marathons.

A National University graduate, Smith earned his bachelor's degree in management. He currently resides with his family in Merrimac, Mass.
