China 2010 cotton output seen down 2.8 pct

China's cotton output in 2010 is expected to fall 2.8 percent to 6.2 million tonnes, said a vice agricultural minister on Thursday.

Oilseed output was expected to exceed 31.5 million tonnes, largely the same as last year, said Wei Chao'an in a statement published on the Ministry of Agriculture's website.

Sugar output was expected to increase slightly from last year, he added.
