Canton Fair: The Third Phase Opens

On May 1, the third phase of the 109th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened. The second phase includes 17 areas, focusing on textile, clothing, shoes, bags, medicine and health care products and food.

With EU’s anti-dumping measure on Chinese shoes expired on Mar 31, European clients became active in importing Chinese shoes.

However, there were also worries. Considering the appreciating RMB, the exhibitors dared not to accept long-term orders.

The first phase closed on Apr 18. In the first phase, the exhibition focused on electrical, lighting, hardware, chemicals, building materials.

The second phase closed on Apr 27. It focused on consumer goods, gifts and home decorations.
