EVTEKS aims to increase Intl trade volume of carpet industry

With the addition of four new halls of CNR EXPO, covering 40.000 m2, hundreds of companies in the waiting list has now the chance to participate in EVTEKS. EVTEKS, world's second biggest home textiles exhibition, expanded its exhibitor profile recently. With the new carpet section in the new halls of the CNR Expo, an important gap has been filled. More than 1500 brands are expected to participate in the upcoming edition in which worldwide known Turkish carpet companies will meet with national & global buyers.

EVTEKS, Turkey's biggest home textiles exhibition and world's second biggest fair in its field, has grown further with the inclusion of new industries. Turkish carpet manufacturers, drawing attention with the total export volume of USD 1 billion, are going to participate in 17th edition of EVTEKS

EVTEKS, organised by Istanbul Trade Fairs Inc, an affiliate of CNR Holding, is going to take place at CNR Expo between May 18-22, 2011 with the support of the Under secretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade (DTM) and the Association for Turkish Home Textile Industrialists and Businessmen (TETSIAD).

Worldwide known designers of textile industry will attend the fair and latest industrial innovations will be shared with visitors. The fair will also offer new trade opportunities for new participants.

Business contacts worth more than USD 700 million were established at the last edition of EVTEKS. This year, there will be a special section allocated to carpets for the first time. As a part of EVTEKS 2011, sectoral trends and innovations of carpet industry will be showcased in the new halls of CNR Expo. 

With the addition of 4 new halls, dedicated to carpet industry this year, 17th edition of EVTEKS will take place on a total area of 160,000 m² in 12 halls. The aim is to show the strength of the Turkish carpet industry in international area and to share the innovations. CNR representatives have indicated that Middle East, Europe and Russia are among the target visitor countries for the carpet sector.

Trend Area will also be organized in the fair where next year's trends are determined. Visitors can see 2011 trends in the Trend Area.

According to 2009 statistics, having a share of 8,3% in world's carpet export and USD 1,007 billion carpet export volume, Turkey is the world's 4th biggest carpet exporter.
