Mid Micron Fleece firm to 2.5% dearer (New Zealand)

New Zealand Wool Services International Limited (NZWSI) reported the combined North and South Island wool auction comprising 15,392 bales had an 86 percent clearance despite the much stronger NZ dollar compared to the last auction on 26th May.
The weighted indicator for the main trading currencies is 2.42 percent stronger with the NZD/USD 3.14 percent stronger.
Despite this potentially negative factor, Mid Micron Fleece was firm to 2.5 percent dearer. Fine Crossbred Fleece and shears were buyers favour to 2 percent easier.
Coarse Crossbred Fleece generally remained firm. Coarse Shears were firm to 2 percent easier. First Lambs were strongly contested as their season draws to a close, with prices lifting between 2 and 6 percent.
Long oddments rose by 2 percent however the shorter types came back between 2 and 6 percent. Good competition with Australasia, Western Europe and China principals supported by the Middle East, India and the United Kingdom.
