ANSAC to increase price of Soda Ash by $50.00/MT (USA)
Effective July 1, 2011, ANSAC will increase the price of soda ash by $50.00 per metric ton as contracts and commitments allow. Soda ash continues in short supply as a result of continued strong demand and the sub-optimal operation of high-cost capacity in specific regions of the world outside of the United States.
This price increase is designed to encourage investment in new capacity in Green River, Wyoming. Investment in and expansion of low cost, high quality production is necessary to assure supply to the expanding soda ash consuming industries worldwide.
In its global export territories, ANSAC operates as the sales, marketing and logistics arm for three leading producers of natural soda ash in the United States. Together FMC, Tata Chemicals and OCI, export approximately 4 million metric tons of higher quality, environmentally friendlier natural soda ash, making ANSAC the largest soda ash exporter in the world.
