Home textile exports to U.S. not optimistic
China's exports of home textiles registered US $7.47 billion from January to May this year, representing an increase of 12.3 percent year on year, the growth rate significantly fell compared with the same period last year by about 12 percentage points.
Overall exports showed a trend of decreased volume but increased price, export volume declined 4.6 percent, while average export price rose 17.7 percent.
The U.S. market was not optimistic, while the EU and Japan market conditions were relatively good.
Export volume of home textile exports to the United States, the EU and Japan were US $1.98 billion, US $1.44 billion and US $1.06 billion, increased by 3.9 percent, 11.25 percent and 31.8 percent, respectively.
In the U.S. market, export increase was more than 30 percent last year, but the increase has significantly narrowed this year, reflecting that market conditions are not optimistic.
In the EU market, exports increase was more than 20 percent last year, the increase this year has slowed down, but overall growth maintains stable development, the EU market has been the best market in terms of performance among the three top markets in recent year.
In Japanese market, China's exports to the market maintained at low level last year, but the market rebounded at the beginning this year, its demand has rapidly increased after the earthquake.
