July 29th, 2011 Daily Review on Polyester Prices
Upstream Market: Ended by the close on July 29, in NYMEX, the futures price of light crude oil delivered by Sept. slightly increased 4 cents to 97.44 dollars/bbl. In London Market, the futures price of North Sea Brent oil delivered by Sept slightly dropped 7 cents to 117.36 dollars/bbl.
PTA: Today, the PTA price goes weak in overseas market. Suppliers of Taiwan cargo quoted 1220-1225 dollars/ton. The downstream bidding price is around 1210 dollars/ton, while the practical discussions are around 1210-1215 dollars/ton. The quotations of Korean cargo are around 1210 dollars/ton. The downstream bidding price is around 1195 dollars/ton and the practical discussions are around 1200 dollars/ton.
MEG: Influenced by PTA prices and yesterday’s surge, the buying force of MEG buyers weakened today. The MEG price began to adjust and the shipments are rare. Now some of the tariff protective quotation is around 1240 dollars/ton and above. Some bidding offering of the buyers is around 1230-1235 dollars/ton.
PFY: The polyester yarn price goes steady in Jiangsu Market today. The prices are unchanged in Shengze. A local direct spinning manufacturer quoted the acceptance price of FDY 50D/24F for 17600 Yuan/ton and the acceptance price of DTY 75D/144F for 19900 Yuan/ton. The polyester yarn price is in stalemate in Zhejiang Market. Local manufacturer in Xiao Shan stabilized the quotations; now one of the leading manufacturers quoted FDY 66D/24F for 15900 Yuan/ton and DTY75D/144F micro-web for 19800 Yuan/ton.
PSF: Today, Polyester Staple Fiber price in Eastern China market increased, among which, 1.4D*38mm direct spinning PSF mainstream price increased to 12900-13050 Yuan/t.
VSF: Monthly settlement of VSF (Viscose Staple Fiber) manufacturers is over. The market price of VSF is also generally steady today. The selling situation is as usual today and the discussions mainly stayed at 17700-18300 Yuan/ton. The products with price below 17500 Yuan/ton had good sales.
