August 31st, 2011 Daily Review on Polyester Prices

Upstream Market: Ended by the close on Aug. 30, the futures price of light crude oil delivered by Oct. in NYMEX slightly increased 1.63 dollars to 88.90 dollars/bbl, up 1.87%. The trade volume remained at low level.

 

PTA: Today, the PTA price increased in overseas market. The leading quotation of Taiwan cargo is quoted 1300 dollars/ton. The downstream bidding price is around 1285 dollars/ton and the practical discussions are around 1290-1295 dollars/ton.

 

MEG: Today, the leading quotation in Jiangsu MEG market is around 9900-9950 Yuan/ton. The buying offering is around 9850-9870 Yuan/ton. The discussions are predicted around 9850-9900 Yuan/ton.

 

PSF: Today, the leading quotation focus of PSF in South China market is stable; among which, 1.4D*38mm direct spinning PSF is quoted 13450-13550 Yuan/ton.

 

PET Bottle Chips: Today, the PET Bottle Chips Price is Steady in overseas market. The leading quotation of domestic manufacturers is around 1700-1710 dollars/ton (FOB China Ports). The downstream bidding price is around 1660-1670 dollars/ton. The practical discussions are around 1670-1680 dollars/ton (FOB China Ports). The trading atmosphere is weak and practical negotiations are rare.

 

PFY: The overall price of polyester yarn is steady in Jiangsu Market. Partial manufacturers in Shengze increased the quotations. Now a local leading manufacturer increased some of the products by 100 Yuan/ton and quoted semi-dull FDY 50D/48F for 17800 Yuan/ton by acceptance. The polyester yarn price slightly increased in Zhejiang Market. A local polyester yarn manufacturer in Xiao Shan generally increased the quotations by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted FDY 66D/24F for 16100 Yuan/ton and DTY 150D/144F micro-web for 17300 Yuan/ton.
