Oct 21st, 2011 Daily Review on Polyester Prices

PTA: Today, PTA price dropped dramatically in overseas market. Taiwan cargo is quoted 1145-1155 dollars/ton in the market. The downstream bidding price is around 1120 dollars/ton and the practical discussions are around 1120-1130 dollars/ton.

 

PSF: Today, polyester staple fiber continues to be weak and drop in East China; among which 1.4D*38mm direct spinning PSF is quoted 12500-12600 Yuan/ton.

 

PET Bottle Chips: Today, polyester bottle chips price weakly dropped in domestic market. Leading manufacturers at home quoted the products by 12500-12600 Yuan/ton by cash. The downstream bidding price is 12300 Yuan/ton and the practical discussions are around 12300-12400 Yuan/ton by cash but without delivery. Straddle attitude is strong on market and practical discussions are rarely heard of.

 

PFY: Today, the polyester price tends to be weak both in Jiangsu and Zhejiang Market. Leading manufacturers in Shengze stabilized the quotations. Now one of the direct spinning manufacturers quoted FDY 50D/24F for 16700 Yuan/ton with 6-month acceptance. A leading manufacturer in Xiao Shan decreased some of DTY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton and some individuals by 300-500 Yuan/ton. FDY products are all down 200 Yuan/ton and some 300 Yuan/ton. Now FDY 61D/24F is quoted 15400 Yuan/ton.
