Korean textile machinery exhibition is on till Nov. 5
The 18th Korea International Textile Machinery Exhibition 'KORTEX', which is currently being held in Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do (Gyeongbuk) province in eastern South Korea after a gap of three years, will go on till November 5.
KORTEX, Korea’s only domestic textile machinery exhibition, is being organized by the Daegu metropolitan city, Gyeongbuk province, Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) and is co-sponsored by Korean Textile Machinery Association (KOTMA), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Daegu Exhibition and Convention Centre (EXCO).
The textile machinery exhibition is expected to be a huge success due to an investment boom in Korea’s domestic textile industry and also due to Daegu city in Gyeongbuk province being the main centre of Korean textile industry.
KORTEX was first held in 1976, and since then it was held every alternate year in Seoul. From 2004 to 2008, the exhibition was held in Daegu, the hub of Korean textile industry.
‘KORTEX 2011' is being held after a gap of three years owing to global financial crisis. The organizers of the expo are expecting a rise in demand for textile machinery as the scope for investment financing in textile industry has increased after Korea signed the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with Peru, EU and the US.
