Predicted by the Chinese Cotton Monthly Report issued by China Cotton Association on November 1 that the total cotton production of China was 7.28 million ton, reduced 100,000 tons than the forecast of August, yet increased 9.3 percent than last year.
As of the end of September, the national average picking progress was 33.5 percent, 7.3 percent Y/Y growth, but the farmers average selling progress was 13 percent, flat year on year.
Farmers’ average selling cotton price in September was 8.32 Yuan / kg, down 12 percent Y/Y; processing enterprises’ average purchasing cotton price was 8.66 Yuan / kg, dropped 9.3 percent Y/Y.
The import volume of cotton in September was 253,000 tons, increased 22.1 percent M/M; increased 25.9 percent Y/Y; average import price 2,830 USD / ton, 6.5 percent down M/M.
China cotton index in September (CC Index 328) average price 19,731 Yuan / ton, increased 2.1 percent M/M, increased 2.1 percent Y/Y.
Yarn production in September was 2.629 million tons, 7.7 percent up M/M; 12.7 percent up Y/Y. Textile export volume in September was 23 billion USD, 9.7 percent down M/M; 14.8 percent up Y/Y, for the first time the increase was less than 20 percent in this year.
