China's export value of silk categories up 5.99 percent on year in 2011
China’s exports of silk categories registered 16,700 tons in 2011, down 14 percent year on year; export value reached US $688 million, an increase of 5.99 percent year on year; average unit price was US $ 41.2 / kg, an increase of 23.25 percent year on year. Export value accounted for 19.46 percent of total export value of silk goods.
Main export commodities of silk categories are raw silk, spun silk yarn and silk yarn, the three commodities together accounted for 83.34 percent of the exports of total silk merchandise.
China’s exports of raw silk realized 5701.12 tons, down 8.75 percent year on year; export value achieved US $288 million, an increase of 16.87 percent year on year; average unit price was US $50.50 / kg, an increase of 28.07 percent year on year.
Exports of spun silk yarn completed 5050.11 tons, an increase of 2.22 percent year on year; export value stood for US $117 million, increase of 15.59 percent year on year; average unit price was US $23.21 / kg, an increase of 13.08 percent year on year.
Exports of silk yarn fetched 3183.73 tons, down 27.18 percent year on year; export value marked US $171 million, down 2.68 percent year on year; average unit price was US $ 53.73 / kg, an increase of 33.64 percent year on year.
The top five export markets of China’s silk commodities in 2011 were India, Pakistan, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.
Of which, exports to India were 5554.63 tons, down 27.81 percent year on year, export value was US $ 276 million, down 7.33 percent year on year.
Exports to Pakistan fetched 2664.44 tons, an increase of 4.59 percent year on year, with export value reaching US $30.386 million, down 7.75 percent year on year.
Exports to Italy scored 1748.2 tons, up 1.33 percent year on year, with export value reaching US $ 76.889 million, an increase of 29.46 percent year on year.
Exports to Japan came to 1599.64 tons, down 3.99 percent year on year; export value fetched US $ 74.814 million.
Exports to South Korea realized 752.43 tons, down 23.03 percent year on year, with export value reaching US $ 38.428 million, an increase of 5.97 percent year on year.
