Mecox Lane to open its warehouses for e-commerce firms
Mecox Lane Ltd, which operates M18.com, one of China’s leading online platforms for apparel and accessories, plans to share its logistic platform with other e-commerce operators.
The step is likely to improve Mecox Lane’s revenue while decreasing distribution costs.
Mecox Lane has warehouses in major e-commerce centres in China such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Chengdu.
The company is also constructing a 120,000 sq m logistics operating centre in Wujiang, Jiangsu province, which would increase its warehouse capacity to 600,000 stock keeping units.
Accordingly, the firm’s daily delivery capacity will also go up to 130,000 orders.
Last year, Mecox Lane initiated several measures to shorten the delivery period. Currently, the firm delivers goods on the next day to customers in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.
For other provincial capitals, the company takes average delivery time of 2.3 days, while the average time for the entire country is 2.8 days.
