Apparel Retail Sales Value + 41.9% m/m of Shanghai in Dec.

According to Shanghai Apparel Association, apparel retail sales volume in Shanghai top 10 department stores was 1.076 million pieces(sets), increasing 40.2% m/m(up 18.1%y/y) by 309,000 pieces (sets).In Dec. apparel products sales value was CNY580 million, increasing 41.9% m/m (up 10.2% y/y) by CNY170million. Average price in Dec. was CNY542.7/piece (set), up 1.2% m/m, down 6.6% y/y.

Womens apparel: ONLY doubled in sales value

The accumulated retail sales volume of women’s apparel was4.476million pieces (sets) ,decreasing 10.0% y/y by 0.497 million pieces (sets) in Jan. – Dec. in Shanghai; The accumulated retail sales value increased 8.7% to CNY2.13 billion; Average price was CNY476.0/piece (set), up 20.7% y/y.

Looking further into the ranking of women’s apparel brands in terms of sales value in Dec. 2011 .ONLY ranked back to the first. It reported the sales value greatly increased 109.7%m/m reached CNY4.969 million in Dec. VERO MODA increased 47.9% m/m reached CNY4.708 million, dropped one ranking and ranked second. L'ORFEO ranked second last month fell to third this month. The sales value of L'ORFEO was CNY4.379 million, increasing 38.8% m/m. SIERLI was CNY4.069 million, increasing 58.3% m/m,ranking from third last month fell to fourth this month. Teenie Weenie returned to the top five by CNY3.427 million.

Mens casual wear : Goldlion ranked the three

The accumulated retail sales volume of men’s casual wear was 961,000 pieces(sets), decreasing 17.0% y/y by 196,000 pieces(sets) in Jan. – Dec. in Shanghai; The accumulated retail sales value increased 3.4% to CNY561 million; Average price was CNY583.5/piece (set), up 24.6% y/y.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s casual wear brands in terms of sales value in Dec. 2011 . JACK JONES returned to the top ranking. It reported the sales value reached CNY2.879 million in Dec., up 45.6% m/m. POLO increased 27.0% m/m reached CNY2.749 million, dropped one ranking and ranked second.Goldlion ranked thrid with CNY1.988 million. ESPRIT was CNY1.811 million, increasing 95.4% m/m,ranking from third last month fell to fourth this month. GOOD LUCK ranked fifth with CNY1.274 million .

Mens suit : Montblanc returned to the top

The accumulated retail sales volume of men’s suit was 467,000 pieces(sets), decreasing 4.9% y/y by 24,000 pieces(sets) in Jan. – Dec. in Shanghai;The accumulated retail sales value of men’s suit increased 5.1%y/y to CNY551 million; Average price was CNY1179.5 /piece(set),up 10.5%y/y.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s suit brands in terms of sales value in Dec.2011. Montblanc with CNY2.405 million returned to the top ranking after a lapse of nine months.Youngor was CNY2.131 million ,increasing 82.4%,ranking from eighth last month to second this month. HUGO BOSS increased 20.6% m/m reached CNY2.07 million, rose one ranking and ranked thrid. ARMANI.CO increased 24.1%m/m to CNY2.064 million and ranked fourth..PLAYBOY ranked from tenth last month to fifth this month with CNY1.813, up 76.2% m/m.

Mens shirt : Conch got the grand slam

The accumulated retail sales volume of men’s shirt was 251,000 pieces, decreasing 8.5% y/y by 23,000 pieces in Jan. – Dec. in Shanghai;The accumulated retail sales value of men’s suit decreased 2.0%y/y to CNY77 million; Average price was CNY306.6 /piece,up 7.0%y/y.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s shirt brands in terms of sales value in Dec.2011. Conch kept top one and reported the sales value reached CNY725,000 in Dec., up 7.1% m/m. Kaikai followed closely after Conch and ranked second. It reported the sales value reached CNY0.506 million in Dec., up 18.8% m/m. Youngor was CNY0.363 million ,increasing 8.7%,ranking thrid. PLAYBOY ranked fourth with CNY0.135 million,down 27.0%m/m. GEORGAMANIYA ranked fifth with CNY0.135 million,down 46.4%m/m.
