Hunan Textile Industry: Industrial Output Expected to Top CNY 100 Million

It is reported from the recently held Working Conference of Hunan Textile Industry that the gross industrial output value of the local textile industry is expected to top CNY 100 million in 2012.

According to Liu Hui, Director of Administrative Office of Textile Industry in Hunan Province, in 2011, the 469 major textile enterprises (with annual sales revenue above CNY 20 million) realized a gross industrial output of CNY 83.53 billion, up 32.7% year-on-year, which is 6 percentage points faster than the nation´s average; they generated a pre-tax profit of CNY 5.76 billion, up 53.5% year-on-year; the province has preliminarily established three industrial clusters based on Changde, Yiyang and Zhuzhou respectively for cotton textile, cotton & bast fiber textile and textile & garment, and also 8 textile industrial bases, forming a complete production chain from raw materials to garment, home-textiles and technical textiles.
