Apparel Retail Sales Value + 70.0% m/m in Jan. in Shanghai
According to Shanghai Apparel Association, apparel retail sales volume in Shanghai top 10 department stores was 1.381 million pieces(sets), increasing 28.3% m/m(down 9.2%y/y) by 304,000 pieces (sets).In Jan.2012 apparel products sales value was CNY990 million, increasing 70.0% m/m (down 3.2% y/y) by CNY410 million. Average price in Jan. was CNY719.2/piece (set), up 32.5% m/m, up 6.5% y/y.
According to Shanghai Apparel Association,Jan.2012 in Shanghai top 10 department stores women’s apparel retail sales value was CNY 362million , increasing 59.4% m/m (down 3.3% y/y) ;Men's apparel ( including men'shirt, men’s casual wear,men's suit and men's trousers ) retail sales value was CNY224 million. Among them, men’s casual wear retail sales value was over CNY100 million , increasing greatly 93.7% m/m (down 4.6% y/y); Followed by men's suit, sales value was CNY 88.25 million, increasing 74.7% m/m (down 15.1% y/y); Men's trousers sales value had a obviously increasing, up to 158.9% m/m (up 11.6% y/y); Men's shirt retail sales value was CNY 7.962 million, increasing 64.8% m/m (up 31.5% y/y).
Cashmere sweater continued hot selling in Jan.2012, retail sales value was CNY120 million, increasing 43.7% m/m (down 6.3% y/y); Underware retail sales value was CNY49.379 million, increasing 82.7% m/m (up 9.7% y/y); The retail sales value of children's wear was CNY45.269 million, increasing 72.6% m/m (down 9.0% y/y); Jeans sales of CNY 11.457 million, compared with the last month has doubled, an increase of 43.4% y/y; Leather clothing sales value was CNY 6.407 million, increasing 69.5% m/m (up5.1% y/y).
Womens apparel: CNY 362million
The accumulated retail sales volume of women’s apparel was 431,000 pieces(sets), increasing 14.3% m/m(down 10%y/y) in Jan. 2012 in Shanghai; Retail sales value increased 59.4%m/m(down 3.3%y/y) to CNY362 million; Average price was CNY841.5/piece (set), increasing 39.4% m/m( up 7.5% y/y).
Looking further into the ranking of women’s apparel brands in terms of sales value in Jan. 2012 . VERO MODA ranked back to the first. It reported the sales value increased 45.1%m/m reached CNY6.832 million. ONLY increased 21.3% m/m reached CNY6.029 million, dropped one ranking and claimed second. Ochirly claimed third this month. The sales value of Ochirly was CNY5.575 million, increasing 142% m/m. SIERLI was CNY4.87 million, increasing 19.7% m/m, still claimed fourth this month. SCOFIELD was CNY4.73 million ,increasing 58.7%,ranking from eighth last month to fifth this month.

Looking further into the ranking of men’s casual wear brands in terms of sales value in Jan. 2012 . POLO returned to the top ranking. It reported the sales value reached CNY3.43 million in Jan.2012, up 24.8% m/m. BEAN POLE reached CNY3.347 million and claimed second. Scofield claimed thrid with CNY2.83million. JACK JONES was CNY2.727 million, decreasing 5.3% m/m, from first last month fell to fourth this month. LACOSTE returned to the fifth with CNY2.246 million .
