Successful 20th edition of Chic Beijing
Chic 2012 proved as the hub to promote fashion brands focusin and targeting on the Chinese market. Over 1,000 national and international exhibitors coming from 21 countries and over 110,000 visitors attended CHIC. An extensive program of more than 60 events informed on fashion trends, strategies on the market entry and dignified best–selling brands. A brilliant stage performance celebrated the 20th anniversary.
International Brands at CHIC
China as worldwide biggest consumer market is attracting more and more international brands. Totally 400 exhibitors from 21 countries such as Italy, USA with organizer ENK, Germany, France with ‚Paris Forever’, Japan, Hong Kong, the South Korean Fashion Fair Preview, exhibitors from Denmark, Greece, Israel, Canada, Spain, Belgium, Turkey, India and the designer area Style & Signature gave an excellent overview on brands worldwide. Designers like Sarah Pacini from Belgium, Desigual from Spain, Giesswein from Austria, RENA · RENA LANGE from Germany or the hip label SLVR Adidas were particularly significant at the fair. Mr. Chen Dapeng, Vice President of China National Garment Association and President of CHIC emphasizes: ‚CHIC gets more and more international and serves as the bridge for stepping into the Chinese consumer market. We are supporting new exhibitors from other countries and have developed flanking measures to strengthen their participation.’ Italy presented with over 70 brands the biggest number of the international participants. But also France gave an excellent overview on French styles. ENK integrated in its joint pavilion ‚Germany at its Best’ Fashion Axis Beijing – NRW was the title of the show of NRW.INVEST, the developing agency of the federal state North Rhine Westphalia. This title continued at the Pavilion ‚Made in Germany’. 26 well known fashion brands from Germany such as Apanage, Benvenuto by Leithaeuser, Betty Barclay, Gerry Weber, Luisa Cerano, MarcCain, Stones expressed their satisfaction with this participation. Norbert Lock, Managing Director of MarcCain, said: ‚We are happy to have signed two contracts with franchise partners in Taiyuan and Hefei which were still blank areas for us. Out traditional show during CHIC at the famous Beijing Hotel is an important tool to highlight our collection.’ Dr. Sabine Ringe from Benvenuto commented: ‚Even if the frequency at our booth is less than last year, but the quality of visitors has improved’ Peter Hack from Naturana said: ‚We have spoken to a Chinese maternity fashion producer with 600 shops all over China who is interested in integrating our corsetry in his range. Holger Schmies from STONES: ‚We are very satisfied with the results at CHIC. Due to our excellent connections in China we have received a lot of contacts of which I am sure that some will result in a concrete business relationship. German brands such as LISA CAMPIONE, Diefenthal or the shoe companies Gabor, Sioux, Kennel & Schmenger participated in CHIC 2012.
Chinese Brands at CHIC
The 20th anniversary of CHIC 2012 reflected also an era of progress in Chinese fashion brands. The Chinese fashion industry gave clear evidence of the impressive dynamism. Brands like Youngor, Bosideng, Metersbonwe have been set up with the success of CHIC. In great architectural designs these brands demonstrated their high level of fashion productions. Youngor presented its labels Young, Mayor, Hanp, Hart Schaffner Marx in a very stylish atmosphere. Younger fashion labels like TAGLINE, MooMoo or MTEE drew broad attention to their innovative stand styling and design. High class fashion in full respect of tradition underlined SMALTO Paris or the sportswear collection Le Coq Sportif under Chinese roof at CHIC in the menswear section. Another renowned name is RENOIR whose style is a symbiosis of creativity and technology. Fashion vision, fashion design and fashion trend: CAVA features lines from sport-chic to evening dresses, from knitwear to exquisite leatherwear. Ocean Boreale interprets elegant and feminine looks. The individuality of all Chinese brands are underlined in an unique and attractive stand design.
