Haryana to continue HRDF levy on cotton at reduced rate
The state government of the north Indian state of Haryana has approved a proposal made by the Haryana Cotton Ginners Association to continue levying both market fee and Haryana Rural Development Fund (HRDF) on cotton at reduced rate up to June 30, 2012.
The market fee and HRDF were earlier levied on cotton at 2 percent, but on a request by the Ginners Association, the state government had reduced the rate to 0.8 percent on ad-valorem basis up to March 31, 2012.
The same reduced rate of 0.8 percent for market fee and HRDF would now continue for another three months up to June 30, 2012.
