Nelly forms new committee to debut 2013 home living trends (China)
This season, a new committee debuts the 2013 home trends at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition, which will take place from 28 – 30 August 2012 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Under the direction of Nelly Rodi, a leading trend forecaster from Paris, the new committee will comprise of specialists from France with varied backgrounds including:
• Yves Mirande – Design consultant and journalist for leading interior magazines
• Mathieu Lehanneur – Innovative interior and industrial designer
• Jean Boggio – Interior designer
• Anne Marie Gaultier – Retail specialist and Marketing Director for the famous Paris department stores, Galeries Lafayette and BHV
This combination of expertise gives the new committee additional scope to determine the future direction of international trends and acceptance in consumer markets. As a result, the committee has chosen four directional themes for home textile trends and these will be presented at the trend forum location in international hall W1. The trend forum look is also changing from purely home textile trends to a comprehensive home living experience by adapting home textile products to different home living environments using the four new themes.
Primal Future – A range of new neutral tones inspired by natural shades and materials including chalk, ivory, string, linen, pebble, tobacco and smoked granite, that are made extremely elegant by touches of coppery gold and intense Tuareg blue. Interior is constructed by fusing primitive materials with modern technology.
Decorum Play – Precious stone colours including pearl, emerald, garnet, purple and ruby blend with shimmery darks. The Decorum interior is an artistic mood allying illuminations, grass paste, embroideries and ceramics.
Expressive Nature – An exotic and shimmery tone: bougainvillea, lime, horizon, pimento, curacao, canary yellow, mango and cactus evoke the flora and fauna of expressive nature tempered by neutral ecru and kraft beige. Floral motifs and natural, exotic fabrics express an exuberant hymn to nature.
Well Being Sensual – Powdery, sophisticated and soft colours such as powder pink, shadowy parma, ivory, silver gray and taupe, are awakened by luminous and acidic pastels. The intention is to create snuggly cocoons with sensory and sensual materials.
In addition to the trend forum, Nelly Rodi will host a video and visual presentation, further explaining the 2013 trends including seasonal trend stories as well as directions on colour, design and texture.
Besides the international trend perspective, China Home Textiles Trends Research and Extension Atelier will unveil a Chinese inspired home textile and colour trend forum located in domestic hall.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
