Zambia Cotton Board seeks early finalisation of price (Zambia)
The Cotton Board of Zambia wants to quickly resolve the ongoing stalemate surrounding the price of cotton for the new season.
For the purpose, the Board has called another meeting with cotton farmers and ginners in the country.
The Board announced that it would like to bring both the parties under one roof so that they can hold a dialogue and resolve the issue.
The last meeting scheduled by the Board for May 21 could not take place as representatives of Zambia National Farmers' Union (ZNFU) did not turn up.
It was the fifth attempt to resolve the impasse around the cotton floor price that failed to reap any result.
When all cotton stakeholders in the country met on May 15, they failed to reach a conclusion over the price. The May 18 meeting did not take place due to absence of representatives of the Zambia Cotton Ginners' Association (ZCGA).
