Textile industry achieves 12.6 percent industrial added value on year (China)
The data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information on May 29 showed that in January-April 2012, among consumer goods industries, the industrial added value of textile industry increased by 12.6 percent year on year, but the growth rate slowed down by 0.5 percentage points compared to January-March. Domestic sales of textile industry increase 14.9 percent year on year, but the rage fell 1.6 percentage points compared to January-March decreased.
Of which, total retail sales of garments, textiles and knitwear reached 309.2 billion Yuan, an increase of 14.9 percent year on year, the rate was one percentage point higher than January-March.
Export delivery value of textile industry increased 2.6 percent year on year, the rate fell 1.1 percentage points compared to January-March.
Textile industry still saw negative growth (-2.4 percent) in January to March, slightly picked up 0.6 percentage points compared to January-February.
