China's cumulative imports and exports of textile machinery down 12.59 percent on year (China)

According to customs statistics, China's cumulative imports and exports of textile machinery registered US $1.596 billion in January to March 2012, down 12.59 percent year on year. Of which, exports of textile machinery were US $501 million, an increase of 3.93 percent year on year; imports were US $ 1.095 billion, down 18.52 percent year on year.

From January to March 2012, China imported textile machinery from 46 countries and regions; import value amounted to US $ 1.095 billion, down 18.52 percent year on year.

From categories of imported products, China's imports of spinning machinery ranked the first place. Imports of spinning machinery amounted to US $ 192 million, an increase of 9.01 percent year on year, imports of textile machinery accounted for 17.49 percent of total imports.

From January to March 2012, major countries and regions of China's textile machinery imports were Germany, Japan, Italy, China, Taiwan and Switzerland, total import value of the five countries (regions) reached US $935 million, down 16.14 percent year on year, accounting for 85.36 percent of total imports.

China's imports of German textile machinery took the first place, imports amounted to US $ 376 million, down 8.11 percent year on year, of which, trade volume of knitting machinery was US $ 138 million, down 17.03 percent year on year.

Total imports of textile machinery in terms of general trade fetched US $761 million, accounting for 69.54 percent of total imports, down 19.44 percent year on year. Imports of equipment and goods by foreign-invested enterprises took the second place; imports amounted to US $ 261 million, accounting for 23.80 percent of total imports, down 21.36 percent year on year.
