ShanghaiTex to drive upgrading of Chinese textiles industry
The 2013 edition of ShanghaiTex aims to pioneer the transformation and upgrading of the Chinese textiles industry by bringing a full array of textile products, machinery and technology from China and all over the world under one roof.
One of the most influential textile events in China, The 16th International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex 2013) will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center, Pudong, Shanghai, PR China from 10-13 June 2013.
At the last edition of ShanghaiTex in 2011, the exhibition occupied 92,000 square metres with over 1000 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions while the number of visitors reached a record high of 55,080.
New theme zones
Three new theme zones will be launched at ShanghaiTex 2013 as explained by Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd:
"Since the business environment becomes more competitive and dynamic, industry players request a one-stop platform for their total sourcing requirements. Many of our visitors are leading manufacturers who are constantly exploring options to improve their productivity and to respond quickly to customers' demands. The newly added theme zones are industry-focused, which will surely bring plenty of inspirations for new materials and technology to our visitors."
New materials, technologies & designs for knitted products
With new materials and technological advancement, finer knitted products can now be produced and more sophisticated designs can be achieved. This zone will demonstrate the latest knitting products and the related technology applications.
Techtextile technology & product
This zone is one of the show highlights and the exhibiting area will gather a wide range of performance fabrics and value-added products in the blooming technical textile market.
Digital printing machinery
The new marketplace will feature an integrated digital textile printing solutions and machinery with new industry standards in the market sector. Organisers say the new generation of machines with higher outputs, higher resolution printing heads, and more sophisticated textile material handling systems will be the ‘must-see items’.
Established product zones
Organisers say the other five well-established zones will fulfil the interests of the industry buyers with a wide spectrum of technology, machinery and services. These are:
Knitting & Hosiery Machinery; Weaving Machinery; Spinning & Techtextile Machinery; Printing, Dyeing & Finishing Machinery & Textile Chemicals; and Spare Parts and Accessories for Textile Machinery.

Orgainsers say that the ShanghaiTex 2013 will take a great step forward by bringing Hong Kong's Chemtax Industrial Co Ltd. in as its strategic partner.
