TAITRA urges Taiwanese textile firms to create own brands (Taiwan)
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the foremost non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan, has urged Taiwanese companies, including textile and apparel firms, to develop their own brands in order to acquire greater presence in international markets.
Speaking at the 20th Taiwan Excellence Award Ceremony, Wang Chih-kang, Chairman of TAITRA, said having own brand name would enable Taiwanese firms to better project Taiwan’s image in global markets.
He said Taiwan has original design and equipment manufacturers, who are known globally, and it is now time for them to develop their own brands.
Textile exports from Taiwan grew during the first half of the current year, although overall Taiwanese exports posted a decline during the same period.
