Catwalk Show to take place at Intertextile Shanghai (China)
For the first time ever, the Intertextile Catwalk Show will take place at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2012. The organiser has invited the well-known Hong Kong fashion designer William Tang to use exhibitors’ fabrics to design and produce a collection for a runway show to be held on 22 October 2012.
He says: “It’s just incredible how the quality of Asian suppliers has improved tremendously over the years. I was really glad when the organisers originally asked me to do a show nearly 20 years ago at Interstoff – I was the pioneer – and now, they’ve asked me to do this again at Intertextile Apparel Fabrics Shanghai. It has really been a great inspiration.”
Exhibitors, including Danmo, Huaqi, Lenzing, Luthai, Shishi Cloth Association, and Suzhou CINC, will also be showcasing design pieces using their own products. Intertextile Directions Trend Forum in hall W1, by Kai Chow of Doneger Creative Services, will preview Autumn / Winter 2013/14 trends based on four distinct creative themes.
New: China International Fabrics Design Competition
The 2012 trade show will also see the introduction of the China International Fabrics Design Competition, which is held as a separate event to Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2012. The only design competition of its kind in China, it will be judged by a special committee of retailers, designers and global buyers, and the winners will be showcased at the Fabrics China Trend Forum.
