Vivienne Westwood creates collection with Merino wool (United Kingdom)
English fashion designer and businesswoman Dame Vivienne Westwood has created a capsule collection ‘Vivienne Westwood Woolmark’, using the finest Australian Merino wool, in collaboration with the world’s leading wool textile organisation, The Woolmark Company.
The seasoned designer has partnered with the Australian company for the first time to produce the luxurious 12-piece warm apparel range.
The collection, which offers exquisite garments for both men and women, highlights the modernity and relevance of Merino wool in the contemporary high-end fashion world.
The line includes drop-waist cardigans, lightweight knit dresses, crew-neck tops and classic jumpers in vivid hues.
The ensembles of the clothing line were first featured at Westwood's Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Red Label, Gold Label and Man catwalk shows.
The Vivienne Westwood Woolmark collection will be put up for sale in stores and online from September 28 onwards.
Merino is one of the world’s most technically advanced fibres, with unique moisture and temperature control properties.
The 71-year-old designer, Vivienne Westwood, is largely credited for bringing modern punk and new wave fashions into the mainstream.
