Arkema increases caustic soda price
Arkema announces an increase by 60?dmt (dry metric tonne) on caustic soda prices (sodium hydroxyde 30.5% and 50%), effective October 1st, 2012 or as contracts allow.
This adjustment is made necessary by the increase in the cost of energy, transport and also because of adverse market conditions on chlorine, co-product of caustic soda.
The caustic soda produced by Arkema is used in various applications including chemical, detergent, food, pulp and paper industries as well as metals treatment.
The Arkema Group was created in October 2004 from the reorganization of Total’s Chemicals branch. Its three business segments, Vinyl Products, Industrial Chemicals and Performance Products, combine coherent and integrated industrial activities, most of which boast either world or European leading rankings, with internationally recognized brands and products
