Low Cotton Output Reported In India
Low cotton output has been reported in India this year, which may lead to affecting the supplies in the international market, said senior member of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) on Tuesday.
The statistics issued by the Cotton Corporation of India on October 28, revealed that total domestic cotton production has declined to 869,000 bales, which are 33 percent less than the production of last year. According to the report, most loss in cotton production has been faced by states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh where cotton production loss is 43 percent as compared to last year, whereas in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan loss in cotton production is 16 percent and in states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka the loss in the cotton production is 26 percent as compared to last year.
