Chinese textiles on display at Homelife Fair in Dubai
Eyeing Middle East investment, a large number of Chinese textile and garment suppliers are participating in China Homelife Fair, a Chinese exposition going on at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Meorient International Group, organizer of the expo, said the fair is considered to be the largest display of Chinese textiles that the world has ever seen.
Pan Jianjun, General Manager of the Meorient International Group, said according to industry analysts, the world fabric and textile market is projected to be worth two billion USD by 2015, and there are indications that China will play a pivotal part in helping the industry to achieve this.
He said it is time to make out how they can further associate with their potential trade partners and consumers in the Middle East. The Chinese exhibitors showcasing products, which are presently not available in the Middle East markets, expect much from this strategic market, he added.
Mr. Jianjun noted that the Chinese textile and garment sector has posted a steady growth over the past six months, and the fair has extended a good opportunity to the exporters to showcase their products before a strategic market like the Middle East.
As per the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade data, over past one decade, trade between China and UAE has increased by 395 percent to US$ 15.6 billion.
While GCC is China’s second-largest trade partner, Middle East holds to be the biggest market for China-made products, globally.
