Organic & green to be likely fashion trends in 2013
As soon as we welcome the New Year with hearts filled with hope and endless joy, the uber fashionistas, who do not want to stay behind when it comes to changing fashion trends, start fretting about the likely trends that are going to take the entire fashion world by storm. To answer that Fibre2fashion spoke to few designers on the topic and here is what they had to say:
"The year 2013 will see more and more organic and green things so whatever we do in fashion, architecture or in art could reflect the feeling of mother earth, however it would not be natural in a very clear cut way and definitely will not be typically earthy or brownish in color," says designer Rahul Mishra.
"Colour wise there is going to be a great deal of contrasts, the tone on tone range as well as monochromes are really big for this season," he adds.
"In terms of silhouettes, the peplum is going to be one of the biggest trends and trousers of palazzos will certainly dominate the fashion circles," Mishra predicts.
According to ace designer Ritu Kumar, the fashion trends in India will not be uniformly the same, "there would be a traditional classicism in the bridal line with more and more of metallic finishes and less of bling."
Designer Anita Dongre feels that abstract digital prints are going to be the in thing in the New Year.
"Abstract digital prints will enhance the look in a simple and understated way by adding fun and colour to everything like kaftans, maxi dresses, shift dresses and pencil skirts," she says.
According to her, the pencil skirts which were re-introduced in 2012, "are here to stay and will be the most wearable trend in 2013. In terms of designs, the skirts will adorn cool tropical, chaotic or abstract prints unlike the usual geometric ones."
Dongre further explains that a pencil skirt can be teamed up with a soft sheer georgette blouse, broad waist belt and a great pair of wedge heels or pumps. She additionally stresses that the look could work equally well when paired with a basic solid coloured tank top and a formal blazer or a cropped jacket.
"In terms of colours, there will be more solid and sombre shades and washed black and white combinations, as well as creams and fresh hues will also be the new colours this season," she concludes.
