Toyota Boshoku sets-up auto textile interior Chinese plant

Toyota Boshoku Corporation’s Chinese regional management hub Toyota Boshoku (China) Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Automobile Group Component Co., Ltd. (GACC) will jointly establish a new vehicle interior components production company, HEYUAN TOYOTA BOSHOKU AUTOMOTIVE PARTS CO., LTD. in Heyuan city, Guangdong province, China.

This marks the second new company to be established by the parties after Guangzhou Intex Auto Parts. Heyuan Toyota Boshoku Automotive Parts will serve as a satellite complementing the Toyota Boshoku group in the Guangzhou area and support increased production.

It will start producing interior components such as seat covers from September 2013 and supply them to Guangzhou Intex Auto Parts who produces seats. Seats assembled at Guangzhou Intex Auto Parts will be supplied to GAC Toyota Motor Co., Ltd.

By setting up the new company, the Toyota Boshoku group is seeking to improve cost competitiveness and further optimize production and distribution in the key Chinese market. Toyota Boshoku will continue to offer customers worldwide appealing, comfortable and safe automobile interior space.
