China's Exports of Home-textiles Rise Sharply in Jan. – Feb.
According to the General Administration of Customs, the exports of home-textiles from China totaled US$ 6.89 billion in the first two months of this year, up significantly by 24.5% year-on-year. The exports increased 24.7% year-on-year in quantity term, while the export price dropped moderately by 0.1%. In January-February of 2015, China's exports of home-textiles to three major markets including the United States, EU and Japan rose 21.8% year-on-year to US$ 3.33 billion. The export to the United States grew fast, amounting to US$ 1.68 billion, up 32.9% year-on-year; the export to EU rose 19.8% year-on-year to US$ 1.13 billion; while the export to Japan maintained negative growth, dropping by 0.1% to US$ 530 million.
In the first two months of this year, China's exports of home-textiles to other markets than the above-mentioned three totaled US$ 3.56 billion, up 27.2% year-on-year. The export to ASEAN members, the three countries in South Asia and the seventeen countries/regions in the Middle East rose respectively 58.3%, 91.7% and 36.5% to US$740 million, US$280 million and US$690 million, while the export to Russia dropped by 46.6% to US$ 130 million.
