Yarn Market Summary (May 1-15, 2011)

In the first half of May, the overall yarn market remained quite weak. With increasing inventory and tight funds, plants were active to sell goods but downstream buyers showed little interest to take offers. Cotton yarn and rayon yarn prices dropped sharply while polyester yarn prices mainly kept flat in weakness. In addition, spandex covered yarn prices also tumbled somehow while acrylic yarn prices still maintained.
