Yarn Market Summary (May 16-31, 2011)

In the second half of May, although cotton market tended to step into stability, the overall yarn prices dropped further. Yarn mills continued to focus on selling goods while buyers were still waiting and seeing. Cotton yarn and rayon yarn prices continued to slump sharply while polyester yarn prices declined slightly. Later the dropping trend slowed down somehow. In addition, spandex covered yarn prices also decreased while acrylic yarn prices still maintained.
