China's status of a great textile power unshakable
China has 120 millions of ring spindles, 2.32 millions of rotor spinning machines and 1.26 millions of looms, the spinning capacity of China's cotton textile industry has exceeded 50 percent of global total capacity, its status of great power is unshakable.
China produced 27.17 million tons of yarn and 80 billion meters of cloth in 2010, according to National Bureau of Statistics.
As of the end of 2010, China had 12,000 cotton textile enterprises, the main business income, gross profit and gross industrial output value of cotton textile industry accounted for about 27 percent of national textile industry.
Among the 12,000 cotton textile enterprises, the top 100 enterprises formed about 30 percent of the total textile industry in 2010. These companies have their own brands, core competencies, bargaining ability, and generally higher recognition in both domestic and international markets
Overall operation of China’s cotton textile market was good in the first quarter of 2011, but cotton textile market continued to be weak from mid-March, subject to market changes and other multiple factors, such as the decline of international and domestic cotton prices, which gradually stabilized until the end of August.
