Jiangxi Growth Rate of Textile Industry Continue to Pick Up

At the beginning of this year, influenced by negative factors such as weak demand, cotton price difference and increasing production costs, the textile economy in Jiangxi Province grew at decelerated speed. But by constantly opening up market at home and abroad, promoting the progress of key projects and adjusting product structure, the growth rate of textile industry has been picking up since May.

Statistics show that in January-August of this year, above-scale textile enterprises generated an industrial value added of CNY 18.9 billion, up 16% year-one-year; prime business revenue of CNY 79 billion, up 23%; a pre-tax profit of CNY 6.64 billion, up 32% and a profit of CNY 4.27 billion, up 28.4%. The prime business revenue rises 8.7, 5.4 and 0.9 percentage points respectively compared to the previous three months.
